Mahogany Adirondack Chair

Description

Mahogany Adirondack Chair.  Made from quarter-sawn African Mahogany for improved looks and longevity.  Each chair measures 36 inches tall, 36 inches wide and 33 inches from front to back.  Arms on these chairs are 8 1/2 inches wide for stability of plates and drinks.  Each chair has a curved seat and curved back for comfort.  The legs on the chair have separate feet to adjust the height of the chair and to ensure long life.  The woodgrain on each foot runs parallel to the surface to reduce the chance of wood rot.  The feet can also be replaced if needed, rather than replacing or repairing the leg if rot occurs.

These chairs are the most comfortable you will find.  They are my 5th generation of design, and are sized for American adults. Size can be adjusted within reason to accommodate special needs.

The body of the chair is finished with 3 coats of spar varnish.  The arms are finished with 4 coats of spar varnish, polished to over 4,000 grit with sandpaper and then further polished with pumice to about 12,000 grit.  The arms are then further coated with paste wax, and polished again.  All pieces are screwed together using coated deck screws; and the screw holes are plugged.

The photo of the chair in this presentation is 5 years old and has not been refinished.  It is covered in the summer to reduce acid rain damage and stored in an unheated porch for the winter.

These chairs will be a special order and will take 4-5 weeks to be made.  They can be delivered for an addition al charge in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Medina Counties.  You can also pick them up in Geauga County.
