Large End Grain Cutting Board. Size is 18 by 14inches. About 1 1/2 inches to 1 3/4 inches thick. Available in Cherry,
Walnut, plus Walnut and Cherry or Maple and Cherry strips.
End grain cutting boards are safer for you because they do not scratch as easily as regular cutting boards. They are also easier on your knives. The grain of the wood is straight up and down so when your knife hits it, it goes between the cells rather than scratching the top. This inhibits bacteria growth because of the oil finish and because the scratching is minimal.
These cutting boards are finished with three coats of food safe Danish Oil. The brand I use is “Tried and True” which does not use heavy metals to make it dry faster. I am not affiliated with that company in any way – I just like their product.
